Tour of
Britain
15th September
2011 - 110mile Stage 5 of the Tour of Britain 2011
cycle race will leave Exeter Cathedral Yard at 10.15 and proceed
westwards along the C50 passing Pathfinder Village and through
Tedburn. It is expected to reach Cheriton Bishop at 10.41 where there will
be an intermediate sprint. The riders, together with the accompanying team
cars, motorcycle cameramen, race officials and motorcycle police
escort will then proceed across Dartmoor to Bovey Tracey before
returning to Exmouth (14.28) via Crediton (13.13) and Rockbeare. The
police escort will carry out a rolling closure of roads which will reopen
as soon as the riders have passed. The event will be recorded for ITV4 by
helicopter camera overhead. This will be an excellent spectator event.
Ideal places to watch include outside Pathfinder, the Football Club,
Fingle Glen or in the centre of Tedburn. So get your flags
out!
