    TENNIS CLUB

We have a very active social tennis club in the Village.

Members play all year round, and very rarely give in to the weather!

The Tennis Courts are at the Rec, which is down a drive on the left-hand side of the Whitestone Road as you leave the village.

Club members tend to plan on Sunday mornings at 11.00am, and between April and early October on Thurdsay evenings from 6.30pm.

The School and Youth Club also use the Courts during the week, but there is always room for people to come and have a game.

Many people think that Tennis Clubs can be a bit stuffy, but that is not how we do things in Tedburn!  We are a very informal group, with no dress code or complicated rules, and people of all levels and standards enjoy the game.

If people would like to play, all they have to do is to ring Chris Gibbs on 01647 61440 or Ian Gass on 01647 61136 and ask for the key.  The Courts are cheap to hire.  You do not have to play with a club member.

Anyone can join the Club by paying a small subscription, and can then use the Courts free for that year.   You can join as an individual (with reduced rates for under 16s and the unwaged), or as a couple or family.

The Tennis Courts were built over 20 years ago, and we need to invest in their future.  We are raising funds to do that, and hold various social events throughout the year.  In July, we had our annual tournament - there are some pictures of the day underneath.  We hope to start work resurfacing the courts in October.

You can also contact our Chairman, Linda Bellshaw , to find out more about the Club.
